Variable Rate Nitrogen Mapping

Agriculture Services

You Cannot Manage What You Cannot Measure

Neptune Drone Services carry out Variable Rate Nitrogen Mapping using our High Resolution Micasense Altum multispectral sensor and specialist Software. We work with farmers and Agronomists to create variable rate maps to allow farmers to move away from applying standard Nitrogen rates. This allows farmers to apply Nitrogen to the areas it is needed, produce even crop yield, reduce Nitrogen use and improve crop yields.

Using our Micasense Multispectral sensor allows farmers to manage and monitor their crops progress throughout the crop’s growth cycle like never before. Our multispectral camera produces cm level accurate georeferenced maps that can be uploaded to your variable rate spreader. The farmer and/or agronomist determine the rates of Nitrogen to be applied to each zone meaning they retain control over the rates applied and can manage their Nitrogen use on their crops.

Our Micasense Altum multispectral sensor records images in 6 bands Red, Green, Blue, Near Infra-red, Red Edge and Thermal. The images are captured at the same moment across the 6 bands, this sychronisation allows for the data to be easier aligned for advanced analytics. A DLS 2 light sensor is also fitted to the UAV to measure irradiance and sun angle measurements ensuring the images are highly calibrated for enhanced accuracy and reliability. Combined with our specialised software we can produce different images that can accurately measure biomass and chlorophyll levels of the crops.

We can map all crops including Oilseed Rape, Wheat, Potatoes, Barley, Oats as well as vegetables, forestry and more. If you would like to talk to us about this service, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
